Procure Partnerships Framework contractor partner Crossfield is currently on-site making great progress at Cardinal Newman College, delivering a programme of new build works on 1-5 Carr Street, Preston, for the Colleges brand new facility dedicated to T level curriculum.

The creation of the new three-storey campus is in full flow and will house the college’s T-Levels courses, a new technical based qualification that features industry placements.

With the roof now finished and façade 50% complete, installation of the render will start this month. Crossfield managed to obtain the required terracotta cladding from Portugal just before the recent Brexit deal was confirmed.

Internally, construction of the walls began just before Christmas and M&E first fix is 25% complete, with full fit-out due to start at the end of January.

Student placements have been put on hold due to the latest lockdown, however Crossfield are in talks with the college’s Workplace Co-ordinator about supporting with virtual events and student engagement.

Despite winter weather delays and challenging logistics, the project is on target to complete by summer 2021.

Faye Dolan, National Framework Manager “It is fantastic seeing the T-Levels project at Cardinal Newman College progress at such pace. Crossfield’s performance to date has been fantastic, this project will be a great asset to the College.”
