Winners Revealed for the National Project Excellence Awards 2024

The winners were revealed at the National Project Excellence Awards yesterday (19 September) during an award ceremony. The awards, hosted by Procure Partnerships Framework, celebrate the achievements of contractors, consultants and stakeholders, who deliver vital public sector works across the Framework.

The ceremony, sponsored by Wates, brought together main contractors, consultants and public sector clients to celebrate those firms who demonstrate industry best practice, and their collaborations which drive social impact, technical innovation and sustainability.

Nominees were selected through a thorough evaluation process that involved nominations from peers, expert panels, or a combination of both, depending on the category.

Main contractors, consultants and projects were recognised across 13 categories, which were attended by more than 280 people and hosted at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham.

Key projects were recognised up and down the country, BAM Construction picked up the trophy for East Project of the Year, recognising their work on the Kidderminster Creative Hub on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council, whilst GRAHAM bagged Construction Project of the Year for their delivery of Reardon Court, a new extra care housing scheme in Enfield.

Social value and sustainability were key themes throughout the ceremony. Willmott Dixon won Environmental Project of the Year for their outstanding efforts to create the greenest borough in Manchester, whilst Kier took home Social Value Initiative of the Year for their Creative Hub, an initiative to boost awareness of employment opportunities in construction.

Hive Projects, Pulse Consult and Coreus all picked up awards for Consultant of the Year in their respective regions, though it was Illingworth and Gregory that went home with Contractor of the Year for their ‘above and beyond’ delivery of Procure Partnerships Framework projects. I&G were also nominated for their work on the Rob Burrow Centre, which is currently undergoing construction.

Faye Dolan, Framework Director at Procure Partnerships Framework, said: “Our contractor and consultant partners are the lifeblood of the Framework. Their technical innovations, commitment to social value and outstanding project delivery allow us to support vital public sector works that make a real difference to the livelihoods of communities up and down the country.

The National Project Excellence Awards are a moment to celebrate those who drive change, innovation and best practice in our industry. Thank you to all the nominees and winners for your efforts, vision and contribution to not only the Framework but the entire industry.”

In addition to the main event, this year’s gathering had a charitable focus, as it raised significant funds for Procure Partnerships Framework’s charity partner, Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

A raffle was held during the event, which saw enthusiastic participation from contractors, clients and consultants in the room. Thanks to their generosity, a total of £2525 was raised, all of which will go towards supporting the incredible work of Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
