This leisure project was secured via the Procure Partnerships North West Framework under a Single Stage Call-off Procedure.
The new £4.3m Hub will provide much needed community and wellbeing services for the local area, delivered as part of the Wellbeing in Bewsey & Dallam programme, where it was identified that there was a requirement for services to aid low-income families, the unemployed, those with mental health issues and those in poor health. These communities can now enjoy the greatest benefit these services can offer.
The Hub is located on Longshaw Street in Warrington, opposite existing playing fields and children’s play area. Community spaces, a state-of-the-art gym, café, multi-use studios, hydrotherapy pool and library provisions are just a handful of the exciting new features that can be accessed through the Community Hub.
Despite delays to the project due to devastating flooding in the area earlier this year Whitfield and Brown have handed over the Community Hub to a high standard and were able to ensure social value activities could take place on site, allowing Engineering Students from Warrington and Value Royal College to gain first-hand experience of a live work site.
Zoe Brooke, Director, Whitfield and Brown, commented:
“We are incredibly proud to have been involved in the construction of the new Bewsey & Dallam hub and thrilled to know that the residents of Warrington can now take advantage of utilising such fabulous facilities and benefit from the supporting community led services it will provide.”
Faye Dolan, National Framework Manager, Procure Partnerships Framework:
“Procure Partnerships have been delighted to support Warrington Borough Council to deliver the Bewsey and Dallam Community Hub. After some challenging weather conditions that caused some programme difficulties, Whitfield and Brown have successfully overcome these obstacles and handed over an impressive Community Hub that will greatly benefit the local area.”
