Procure Partnerships Framework contractor partner Burmor Construction is currently on site making excellent progress delivering a 27 dwelling scheme for Cross Keys Homes. Despite Covid Burmor is aiming to complete the scheme 3 months earlier than the contracted completion date.
A start on site was made within one week of contract award via Procure Partnerships Mini Competition Express. This rapid appointment was required to ensure grant funding drawdown before the end of the financial year. This presented the first challenge facing the project. Procure Partnerships was suitably placed to support Cross Keys Homes through a procurement process with such a tight time scale. Burmor Construction met their golden brick deadline with time to spare and under Covid restrictions.
Patrick Burke, Director at Burmor Construction commented on the rapid procurement process via Procure Partnerships Framework: “We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Cross Keys Homes, delivering quality affordable homes on time and on budget, facilitated by the Procure Partnerships Framework”.
This July Burmor Construction met their golden brick deadline with time to spare and under Covid restrictions. Hitting deadlines early has been a theme of this project and a credit to Burmor for their work.
The ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic presented another challenge to the progress of Grove Gardens as the first day on site coincided with the Prime Minister’s announcement of the UK lockdown. Burmor responded to the new challenges and: “Despite all of the challenges 2020 has provided we are still working hard on site and building to the highest standard, something we have a fantastic reputation for in the region. We are almost 50% through the timber frame installation and have 9 plots water tight allowing internal trades to commence. In 2 weeks we will be dropping the scaffolding to the first three plots to allow phase 2 of the groundworks to start and work towards getting the first few plots finished”.
Currently we are aiming to finish the project 3 months earlier than the contracted completion date.” Ollie Crofts, Burmor Construction
Conor Neild-Crabb, Procure Partnerships Framework, Key Account Manager commented on the scheme: “We are delighted that this scheme is progressing at pace, Burmor Construction has so far delivered ahead of programme; they have adapted brilliantly to new ways of working and the progress pictures show that Cross Keys homes will soon be able to provide much needed affordable homes at Grove Gardens.”
