Stepnell due to complete programme of backlog works at Northampton General Hospital

Procure Partnerships Framework Contractor Partner Stepnell are on route to successfully complete a programme of backlog works at Northampton General Hospital with excellent progress being made on site. Our Professional Service Supplier Currie & Brown are also assisting with the programme.

The project was secured via the Procure Partnerships East Midlands Framework.

Some of the works taking place include the replacement of the existing ventilation systems to the Endoscopy, Sterile Services, Staff Room and Main Kitchen departments along with refurbishment works, ensuring the compliance of the buildings with current building regulations.

The programme of works has progressed within the live hospital environment amid the current challenging circumstances relating to Covid–19, with several measures taken place to co-ordinate works while allowing the regular service of the hospital to run smoothly and offering the least amount of disturbance to the wards. Stepnell have also worked several night shifts to minimise cross contamination with live working wards and departments.

The programme of works is also a prime example of the many benefits of batching projects.

Adrian Barnes, Stepnell, Regional Director, commented: “We are very pleased to have been awarded these works at the Northampton General Hospital and to have been given the opportunity to demonstrate how we can work collaboratively with the Trust and the various operating departments in what is an extremely busy environment”.

Conor Neild-Crabb, Procure Partnerships Framework, Key Account Manager, Commented: “Procure Partnerships Framework is delighted to have supported Northampton General Hospital with appointing Stepnell to deliver this programme of Backlog Maintenance. Stepnell has fostered a strong, collaborative relationship which has been crucial to the project; Stepnell are working in a live hospital environment and their experience in managing the setting and relationships has been the basis of their continuing success”.
