Procure Partnerships Framework Contractor Partners Galliford Try are making progress on a programme of New Build works with the construction of an ambulance hub on behalf of North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This new ambulance hub will replace four existing bases and will improve staff, office, training, and parking facilities.
This Blue Light Project was procured via the Procure Partnerships North West Framework under a two stage call-off procedure.
Sustainability is becoming more important for public sector organisations, and it is Galliford Try’s goal to complete a building as close to carbon-neutral as possible, gas-free and highly insulated. It will include LED lighting, triple glazing, Air Source Heat Pumps (for heat and hot water), solar power, and a building management system (BMS) for smart building environment control.
Additionally, Galliford Try recently welcomed students from Gateway Academy and Waterloo Primary to the site. Students and teaching staff enjoyed a full site briefing and were also able to the leave their mark by signing the steel frame. North West Ambulance paramedics were also on hand to answer questions and provide short tours of their emergency vehicles.
The project is due to complete in early 2023.
