Key Account Manager Phil Osborne recently visited Guy’s Hospital, located in the borough of Southwark in central London, to take a look around the live site of a new Teenage and Young Adults Cancer Ward on behalf of our client Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
The project was secured via the Procure Partnerships London Framework under a single stage call-off procedure with our Contractor Partners Tilbury Douglas appointed to the project.
The £7.9m programme of works includes the full refurbishment of four wards on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Bermondsey Wing, incorporating three adult cancer wards and a specialist ward for teenagers. One of the adult wards will include three lead lined rooms for radiotherapy patients.
Once complete the new wards will ensure cancer patients can receive the highest quality care and treatment in state-of-the-art facilities. The new facilities will also create several new jobs at Guy’s Hospital. The project is due to complete in Summer 2022.
Procure Partnerships Framework have supported several NHS bodies on a national scale. We are delighted to support projects that will significantly improve the lives of thousands of patients for years to come.
Robbie Blackhurst, Framework Director, commented: “We are delighted to have our team back out visiting projects up and down the country with Phil visiting the relocation of TYA Cancer Wards at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. We are really excited to see this project come to completion and providing enhanced oncology services across central London, and beyond.”
