I&G Provide £1.3M Transformation to Laboratory and Research Space at St James Hospital

Procure Partnerships Framework Contractor Partner I&G have completed a programme of £1.3M refurbishment and remodelling works to Blocks 55 & 57 at St James Hospital on behalf of client Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The project was secured via the Procure Partnerships Yorkshire Framework.

The Project involved the transformation of a laboratory and research space in 2 linked buildings on the St James Hospital site. This involved demolition of existing spaces and new walls, ceilings, flooring, joinery, decorations and M&E systems.

Despite the short timescale the project handed over on time due to I&G effective planning and optimal safety across the site in relation to pandemic restrictions.

Dean Simpson, Construction Director and Project Manager and QS, commented:
“This was a very tight scheme in terms of the work required in the timescales. Also add in to that the fact that this was being carried out in a pandemic and the fact that the site team managed to effectively manage this project over the line by the original handover date is a source of great pride”.

Natalie Palframan, Key Account Manager, Procure Partnerships Framework, Commented: “We’re really pleased that we have been able to support Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to procure a contractor partner that has the right skills and experience to deliver high quality works, whilst under difficult social distancing restrictions”.
