Procure Partnerships Framework Contractor Partner I&G have now successfully completed a programme of much needed refurbishment and remodelling works to ward 6C at Chapel Allerton Hospital, which has remained inactive for over 11 years, on behalf of client Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The project was secured via the Procure Partnerships Yorkshire Framework.
The redundant ward has now been transformed into a vibrant, modernised space that will now play a key role in caring and supporting stroke recovery patients.
Despite the tight project duration, having to complete works in a much shorter period due to the current circumstances, I&G have shown incredible dedication to scheme by working 7 days throughout the project, and also 24 hour working in the final 4 weeks.
The scheme was delivered within the required time and to a high quality.
Dean Simpson, Construction Director and Project Manager / QS, commented: “The project was very challenging for all parties. The design period upfront was short, meaning that designs had to be collated quickly and efficiently. The time scales on site were probably circa 40% shorter than would normally have been expected, resulting in the requirement for weekend and 24 hour working. All parties pulled together and collaboratively to ensure the project was a success.”
