Galliford Try Complete £9.5m Theatres at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup

Procure Partnerships Framework Contractor Partners Galliford Try have completed a programme of £9.5m refurbishment works to several minor/non-urgent theatres at Queen Mary’s hospital on behalf of framework users Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.

This healthcare project was secured via the Procure Partnerships London Framework with Galliford Try awarded under a Direct Award. This project was also monitored via Compliance Chain.

The works comprise of five operating theatres with the extension of an adjacent patient recovery area, alongside new changing facilities, and ancillary spaces. With these improvements, the hospital has increased the capacity of its suites, reducing patient wait times, increasing efficiency, and improving the overall working environment.

Phil Etridge, Project Manager at Galliford Try, commented: “After a challenging project during the onset of Covid 19, the project was delivered with exceptional collaborative working amongst the Client, their design team along with Galliford Try’s supply chain partners. The combination of these factors ultimately lead to the success of the project”

Chris Witterick, Key Account Manager, Commented: “It’s great to hear that this project is finished and has been handed back to our client, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. This difficult refurbishment project was met with a few challenges, not least the Covid-19 Pandemic, however our contractor partners Galliford Try have done incredibly well to deliver this successfully and more importantly, played a part in helping our NHS to reduce patient wait times and greatly improve facilities at the trust. It has been a pleasure working with Galliford Try, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and Compliance Chain on this one and I very much look forward to working in partnership again”
