Kier Begins Work On £5M Hinckley Crematorium

Kier has started on the site of A £5M new-build crematorium project in Hinckley, for client Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council. The project was secured via the Procure Partnerships East Midlands Framework.

This project will include a ceremonial hall for multi-faith services, a crematory hall to hold the cremation plant and equipment with additional admin/office building. The external works includes memorial gardens, covered walkways, new roads and car park as well as forming a new access to the site from the A47. Kier is working with the council’s in-house landscaping division to complete the soft landscaping and planting scheme.

The project is due to be handed over in early 2022.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Stuart Bray, commented: “It is fantastic to see this milestone reached. Once complete, we will be able to offer a modern, fit-for-purpose crematorium facility that meets the growing needs of the population of Hinckley and Bosworth and surrounding areas.”
