Burmor completes 41 energy efficient homes
“This scheme has allowed us to really shape what future homes look like. Those standards create an aspiration of affordable housing that we are very proud of.”
Group Chief Executive at Platform Housing Group

A new affordable housing development in Lincolnshire has been delivered to us, featuring a cluster of homes built to exceed the 2025 Future Homes Standard.

Procured via the Procure Partnerships Framework
The site at London Road in Kirton has 41 homes in total, six of which are built using LoCAL Homes’ Eco200 panelised system and include air source heat pumps, solar panels, triple glazing and thermal flooring.
Development began back in 2022 when a system using woodcrete framework blocks called Durisol was earmarked for the six units. During the build, Durisol went into administration so an alternative was agreed with LoCAL Homes to use their Eco200 system combined with various energy efficient features.

“This scheme has allowed us to really shape what future homes look like. Those standards combined with our own Platform Standard create an aspiration of affordable housing that we are very proud of. The homes on this development show us what we can achieve when working with great partners like Burmor and LoCAL Homes. Like all social landlords we are here for the long term and we don’t want to be building homes that will cost our customers more to run or that we’ll have to retrofit soon after. It has been great seeing people move into such wonderful homes and witnessing the impact it’s having on their way of life.”

Elizabeth Froude
Group Chief Executive, Platform Housing Group
“From the beginning our partnership was based on sustainability with a common goal to develop places for people to call home. The site hasn’t been without its challenges, so working alongside Platform to problem solve and get things right for the development, residents and construction element has been key. The relationship has yielded fantastic results and it is great to build a new community for the town.”

Luke Boekestyn
Director of Burmor Construction
“I’m really proud to see people moving into their new homes and what it will means for them and the local community. The homes are a good example of the high quality we want to continue to deliver, especially the six built to exceptional energy efficiency standards, making them more affordable to live in. We’ve used category 2 modern methods of construction, giving us that important mixture of modern methods of of construction and traditional construction on our sites. This allows us to address the labour shortage currently being faced by the construction sector, as well as bringing in new technologies and also more sustainable heating sources for our homes.”
