Mindflow has been selected as a Corporate Charity Partner by Black Capital Group, with the partnership launching in May to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week.
The collaboration will see the organisations work together over the coming year to raise vital funds and increase awareness of mental health across the construction industry. It will support Mindflow’s mission to create sites where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical safety, using football as a way to bring people together and open up conversations.
Planned activity includes a five-a-side football tournament, golf day and a charity gala dinner in September, bringing together professionals from across the sector in support of a shared cause.
Beyond fundraising, the partnership will engage Black Capital Group’s employees and network, promoting open conversations around mental health and fostering a culture where people feel supported. Together, Mindflow and Black Capital Group aim to inspire the wider construction industry to get behind the movement and prioritise mental wellbeing across all levels.
Mental health remains a critical issue within construction, with two construction workers taking their own life daily in the UK, highlighting the urgent need for greater awareness and support across the industry.
Partnerships like this are essential in helping to break down stigma, provide support and ensure that no one feels they have to face challenges alone.
Robbie Blackhurst, Founder and Director of Black Capital Group, said:
“The construction industry is a fantastic one, full of opportunity, innovation and pride in place. But it can also be high pressure and, at times, isolating. That’s why it’s so important for workplaces to foster a genuine sense of community and create environments where people feel safe to speak openly.
Mindflow is doing exactly that through the power of football, bringing people together, breaking down the stigma, and creating space for important conversations. Their ambition to set a clear standard of mental health provision on site is something our industry has needed for a long time.
Too many lives are being lost, and more must be done. Mental health should be treated with the same seriousness as physical safety, and we’re proud to support Mindflow in helping drive that change.”
Having spent nearly 20 years in top-flight football, Mindflow CEO Trevor Steven understands the power of the game to bring people together.
Trevor Steven, CEO of Mindflow, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Black Capital Group for choosing Mindflow as their Charity of the Year. Partnerships like this are so important in helping us continue and expand our work across the construction industry. The funds raised will directly support our initiatives on site, allowing us to reach more workers, raise greater awareness, and provide the support that is so desperately needed. It’s inspiring to see organisations like Black Capital Group stepping forward and leading the way in prioritising mental health, and we’re excited to work together to make a real and lasting impact.”
Through this partnership, Mindflow and Black Capital Group are united in their commitment to driving positive change using the power of collaboration, shared experiences, and industry engagement to tackle mental health challenges head-on.
