Galliford Try Hand Over 60 Bed Bevan Intermediate Care Unit At Salford Royal Hospital

Earlier last month our Contractor Partners Galliford Try handed over the brand new £6m Bevan Intermediate Care Unit on behalf of Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Salford City Council.

This healthcare project was secured via the Procure Partnerships North West Framework under a Single Stage call-off procedure.

This programme of new build works involved the Construction of a new two-storey, 60 bed Intermediate Care Unit on the Stott Lane Car Park site of Salford Royal Hospital. The stand-alone building contains a mixture of single bedrooms and 4-bed bay rooms to provide intermediate care for patients. The building also has staff facilities, catering facilities and day room functions, as well as occupational therapy space, including a gymnasium.

The new care facility is built to modern healthcare standards and will be a vital asset to the local community for many years to come.

Darren Parker, Managing Director at Galliford Try North West , commented: “The successful delivery of the Bevan IMU project has been an excellent example of collaborative working across the whole project team, the challenges that COVID created during construction have been overcome and the Galliford Try NW team are very proud to have delivered such a high quality building for Salford Council and the NHS trust.”

Natalie Palframan, Key Account Manager, commented: “Projects such as this are so much more than just a building, and we’re proud to have supported the Trust in partnership with the Council to deliver this important facility for the community. Congratulations to Galliford Try for delivering such a high quality for our client.”
